Entering the second to last event on the FR Americas Championship Powered by Honda, TJ Speed will bring a quartet of drivers to the famed Virginia International Raceway (VIR). Looking to add not only to their race win total in 2021, the Indiana based program is looking to lock up both the Driver and Team Championships with one event weekend remaining.

Leading the team into VIR is Kyffin Simpson. On the strength of five wins and ten podium results in twelve races, Simpson leads the Drivers’ Championship and has been the main point scorer for TJ Speed in the Team Championship race. Varun Choksey sits third in the title chase with three podium results but is hotly contested by the fourth and fifth place drivers who sit only eleven markers in arrears of Varun.

Canadian Logan Cusson has earned a pair of podium results and five top-five finishes to sit sixth in the standings but with a good weekend in Virginia, could catapult himself into the third position. Rookie driver Baptiste Berthelot, who came to the USA only a week before the season started, has progressively improved throughout the year to earn his first podium result at the most recent round. With momentum on his side, Berthelot will see VIR for the first time when he takes to the track Friday for practice.

“We have had a great season, and we are focused on finishing it strong,” explained Tim Neff. “We know that the target is placed firmly on our back, but I am confident in our team, drivers, crew and equipment and believe VIR could be a very good weekend for us.”

TJ Speed will hit the track on Friday for event practice with qualifying taking place Saturday morning and wheel-to-wheel action over the weekend.
