Coming off of a hot streak at the Formula Regional Americas second round of the 2022 season, TJ Speed is packing up and heading to the beautiful Belle Isle to compete in rounds five and six of the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires season. After tough weather and a tough fight in both races at the Indianapolis Grand Prix, TJ Speed is hoping the famous lake-side street circuit will bring renewed focus and good luck.
“We’ve been hitting our stride as of late,” explained Tim Neff. “We had a good event in Indy and a great test last week at Road America. This is our first time on the Streets of Detroit so it will be tough, but we will keep digging and see what we can do.”
Piggybacking off of his second-best finish of the season at the Indianapolis Grand Prix, Kyffin Simpson is looking to continue his current success. Recently being announced as a Ganassi Development Driver, Simpson is looking to reset his best finish of his rookie year on the challenging street circuit. Joining Simpson in the TJ Speed effort will be James Roe Jr. As a former winner in each and every series he has competed in, Roe is aiming for a podium result to help kick start his 2022 campaign.
Neff added, “It will be a busy weekend as every session is important. With only one practice session on Friday and a short qualifying run Saturday morning, our drivers will look to gain experience with each passing lap and each passing corner.”
TJ Speed Motorsports is ready to battle it out at Belle Isle in Detroit, MI this Friday, June 3rd through the 5th for the next two races in the Indy Lights season. You can follow along all weekend on the TJ Speed social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
